Systems Thinking in the Classroom

Thousands of elementary, middle and high school students across the state of Washington purposefully discuss systems and use Systems Thinking Skills to model and explain phenomena relevant to topics their class is exploring. The students know that the skills they are practicing are the same skills that STEM professionals use to do their work every day.

District-Wide Teams

We have partnered with Central Kitsap Schools by working with a district-wide team who attended ISB’s workshop “Systems Are Everywhere,” which gave them a shared experience to support incorporating the 8 Science and Engineering Practices and the 16 Systems Thinking Skills into every science unit at every grade level.
